Topic: "Quran and Modern Science"
Nadir Ahmed ( www.ExamineTheTruth.com )
vs.
Denis Giron ( www.freethoughtmecca.org )

On Sept 9,2003, Denis Giron and Nadir Ahmed engaged in a public
debate over paltalk on a topic which has been debated for over
5 years here on google. It was the final "showdown" between the
2 in which they started a few google posts back in January:

Alhumdulilah, "THE DEBATE IS OVER!" the Quran has been *proved* to
be the work of a greater power, and a human being could not
have been the source.

I would be very interested in hearing your comments and views on the
Ahmed - Giron debate.
Unfortunetly, I have discovered that many people have already preconceived ideas about
the very topic, so much soo, that many even refused to entertain any discussion on it,
nor to even hear the debate
I have compiled a "personal favorite responses list" I have received from people on
them simply being told about the title of the debate (without hearing it the actual debate)
Below:
by the way, ALL of these objections were dealt with and successfully refuted in the debate
"I fail to see how even such proofs would cover up the scientific errors "
"there is no proof period "
"the Quran copied from Aristotle and Eratosthenes "
"no book is the Word of God "
" you are using precisely the same tactic that Biblical inerrantists and prophesiers use
- that is, taking what is already known and interpreting the text to match it. "
" Arabic culture preserved Greek writings, mastered optics, discovered the number zero, and invented algebra. "
" Few of us here on this forum will be interested in commenting on someone else's debate "
" I've read the Koran myself, and it contained nothing to convince me that it was written by
anyone other than humans"
" I see the same sort of claims coming from Christians about the Bible "
" Yeah, it is especially amusing to me since we know perfectly well what sort of evidence will be
offered -- the usual farce of grabing a few words here and a few words there, with no attention
to context nor author's intent, and liberally adding interpretation until any desired result is
seemingly achieved. "
" That's the other part that annoys me... the assumtion that we have never seen what they are offereing.
How many times has there been threads on this very subject on this forum? "
" it's a book and no matter how holy, it
was put into words by man. "
" the person who wrote the quran were very poetic, soo who cares?, that does not prove anything"
" If the Quran was written by a higher power, then why doesn't it glow "
" I don't need to hear your little nonsenical debate to know this thread is
doomed and completely pointless (that means it's stupid). "
" You can not prove something for which you have nothing to compare it to. "
" Your proof only demonstrates the miracle of reinterpretation thats it, I dont
think I would waste my time with this debate"
