Someone on another board wondered how we could be atheists, as without any afterlife to look forward to, life is without purpose.
Interesting. I choose to watch movies with happy endings, more often than not. Or at least with plenty of distracting explosions.
My 'beliefs' on the other and, are not chosen for entertainment value. They are, as near as i can tell, the most accurate description of the world around me. I will be the first to stipulate that i might be wrong.
But i will also suggest that believing in an afterlife, because it gives you something to look forward to, doesn't mean there IS an afterlife. Just shows the flavor of your security blanket.
