Once again in a budget sneak attack, the Wisconsin GOP under Gov. Scott Walker inserted an unnecessary item into the budget that would get rid of a requirement that allows workers off one day a week.
So in Short not to be out done by Jeb Bush’s doctrine of “ if you want to make more you must work harder” Scott Walker appears to have come up with a plan of his own to help the workers of Wisconsin do just that, by being “ volunteered” to work seven days a week without a break.
Employers who already enjoy an enormous coercive power over employees brought on by a tight job market could use this change to the state labor laws to make employees a seven day work week offer they can’t refuse, claim opponents to the change. Non-union employees would be particularly vulnerable to this kind of employer coercion.
As in the case of most Wisconsin “budget” buggery orchestrated by walker and the GOP, this amendment was no different. It was a answer to a non-existent problem. When confronted with the intent and purpose of the change, the GOP lied, saying that under the current law a seven day work week was prohibited. That simply was not true. As the law stands, if the employer and employee agree to a seven-day work week, they can jointly request a waiver from the Department of Workforce Development. In the last two years 100% of all such waivers were granted.
Americans already work more than their counterparts in other countries. With this callous move, Wisconsin republicans have aligned their state with other third world countries such as Burma and Sudan. If he gets something passed to rid Wisconsin of that "Lame" minimum wage, he will have given Wisconsin a competitive edge on North Korea.
When you consider “God” himself is the originator of the one day off concept. Walker has clearly identified his fascist agenda as an anti-Christian ideology as well.
If walker becomes president you can be sure that he will try to do to America what he is doing to Wisconsin.
Molly say:So keep fightin' for freedom and justice, beloveds, but don't you forget to have fun doin' it. Lord, let your laughter ring forth. Be outrageous, ridicule the fraidy-cats, rejoice in all the oddities that freedom can produce. And when you get through kickin' ass and celebratin' the sheer joy of a good fight, be sure to tell those who come after how much fun it was.
