Speaking of birds, I have a couple of resident Stellars Jays. Bossy little shits who bully the other birds, hog the birdbath and yell at me if I fail to replenish it every afternoon. There are plenty of robins and I hear their distinctive singing every afternoon in the summer. My dad used to say they were crying for rain. There are many, many crows here, but they tend to stay in the open and don't usually frequent my front garden. Too shady and closed in for them I suppose. I have a few flickers, towhees, nuthatches, various wrens and hummingbirds and every now and then a heron glides past on its way to or from Lake Forest Park's refuge. My main customers are chickadees. They like the canopy cover and the access to water. At one point I had them eating out of my hand and perching on my head, but I sorta lost interest in that because they refuse to be potty trained. smiley: sick

I haven't put food in the feeder for a couple of years now. I'll probably start up again in the early Fall. Right now, I want them eating those tasty, high protein bugs.
