We have large magpie colonies around here, which is quite appropriate since our main local football team are called "The Magpies". Thieving little buggers that they are (the birds, I mean, not the team), you're frightened to leave anything shiny lying around cos they go walkies (or should I say "flyies") into a magpie nest. Apart from that, mainly crows, seagulls (gannets and herring gulls), owls, wood pigeons, sparrows and starlings with the odd robin. Britain voted the robin as our national bird last month.

Ours is a suburban area surrounded by green belt.
