The Micheal Millikan defense, when asked "How much is enough?" was always 'Just a little more'. It became completed associated with Gordon Gecko (fictional character) and "Greed is good".
I mean, an obsession with any other thing that could harm others, e.g. setting fire to buildings would be acted upon but it's okay to set fire to the economy?

In both cases, there must be circumstances that lead up to the act; those are to be taken into consideration. In the first case there is little to justify the action, if the building is occupied.

In the second, if the actions are taken when it was 'a necessary evil' this is where we must focus; and ask was it. If not, then some remuneration is also a necessity.

Sometimes people will sacrifice themselves for others, sometimes the actual sacrifice was noble; too many times it is the person be protected that is sacrificed and with no input or choice.

One example was a Senator that said "A man will put up with a little crud in his lungs, to feed his family" conveniently forgetting that he was one of only a handful of people who could make sure that when he was gone, his family was provided for. And it wouldn't have been so bad that he did it on Tax Payers money, but that he cut the ability for anyone but folks like himself -who were already living off the Tax payers, and very well thank you - to get the same chance. I will have to look but I think he was one who specifically worked to make sure Coal Companies got Millions in Fee's and Refunds and such, while the area where the companies are is literally dirt poor.

It is really hard to accept that the people living on several hundred million a year in tax free income, because they don't have to call it income, and complain they can't live so spartan and sparsely, are branches that need pruning. They are the Mistletoe on the tree of Life, and being a good druid I like t make sure my tree stays free of the parasites. Besides they are best used elsewhere.

Molly say:
So keep fightin' for freedom and justice, beloveds, but don't you forget to have fun doin' it. Lord, let your laughter ring forth. Be outrageous, ridicule the fraidy-cats, rejoice in all the oddities that freedom can produce. And when you get through kickin' ass and celebratin' the sheer joy of a good fight, be sure to tell those who come after how much fun it was.
