Patriot Bible University, Hovind's alma mater *SNORT!* is a diploma mill in Colorado.

Luckily, "Dr." Hovind will have plenty of time to get a real degree of some sort while he's on...er....sabbatical at Federal Correctional Institution Edgefield in South Carolina. Seems there was a little matter of a few hundred thousand dollars which he and his wife omitted from assorted tax forms; ostensibly on the grounds that it was church money, belonged to God and couldn't be taxed. God couldn't be reached for comment, the courts disagreed adamantly with the uncooperative Hovind's gonzo legal theory and consequently he got sentenced to ten years up-river. For some reason (and I suspect some kind of plea bargain for rolling on her beloved husband) Mrs. Hovind only got sentenced to one year in prison and three on probation in spite of being found guilty on 44 counts of tax evasion.

This may put a strain on the marriage. image

Did I mention they still have to pay the taxes and the fines?
