But IQ tests are biased, and without access to proper schooling, (and having parents give you a head start before school) the person will score poorly. If you took blacks and whites of simillar social and economic status (for about 3 generations) then I'm sure you'd get simillar IQ results."
I mentioned culture (though environment would have been a better word) as a factor in my prior post. Whatever the reasons (environment certainly being one), whites tend to perform better at tasks that require a high level of intelligence.

I never said it was all that's required. It goes without saying that certain physical abilities are necessary to play quarterback.

And that requires intelligence. Leinart, in my opinion, is a more intelligent player than Young. I also believe that Young's athleticism will be largely neutralized against faster NFL defenses.

I'm sure it's different everywhere. One thing's for certain, however: The percentage of black quarterbacks in high school and college is higher than it is in the NFL. In my opinion, the reason is that more athletic black QB's cannot dominate the NFL game with their legs like they can at lower levels of competition.

According to NFL.com, only 19 out of 126 quarterbacks listed on NFL rosters are black. It's also true that only 1 out of 40 Super Bowls (counting this season - since no black QB's are still in the playoffs) have been won by a black quarterback. It's also true that no black quarterbacks are in the Hall of Fame - and I don't believe any of the current ones are headed there.

The fact that I'm basing my opinion on a stereotype as much as talent might seem naive and obtuse. However, there's no question that white quarterbacks are more accomplished and that several have had an uncanny feel for the NFL game that a black quarterback has yet to display.

Considering the history and general requirements of the position, I think you're better off taking a white quarterback in the classic dropback mold than a black quarterback who's better known for his running ability than his arm. I certainly could eliminate the adjectives "white" and "black" from the aforementioned descriptions and have a more politically correct opinion. However, the reality is that Matt Leinart and Vince Young (as well as most others) fit the stereotypes exactly, and I'm simply acknowedging it.
