Houston have both a good QB and RB in Dominick Davis, it's just the offensive line that lacks talent. How long Carr's body can withstand the punishment of being sacked 60+ times a season is another matter... if the O line was sorted out then Houston would be a totally different team. Davis is a guy who went for 1,000+ yards on his first two seasons and only missed 1,000 this year through injury. He's a regular 100yds a game guy with a great pair of hands to boot. It's not a decent running back they need - they've already got one. Still, you could always draft him anyway and trade him, I guess.

I like Young rather than Leinhart because I like scrambling quarterbacks, the fact that they can make something out of nothing even when everything else breaks down, and that they take so much of the defense's attention it opens up other opportunities. Young's TD/Int numbers and ratio were pretty comparable to Leinhart's over the season, so saying Leinhart is a better QB doesn't ring true to me anyway. Under pressure in the Rose Bowl he threw one pick (it should have been two) even with much-vaunted Bush and White in the running game taking pressure off his arm.

However, transitioning from college to the pros is something some players just never manage, and it must be easier for a running back to end up at a struggling team than a QB to get thrown in at the deep end with a 1-15 team. I mean, would you have liked to have been drafted by the 49ers last year? I suppose it's how you cope with the pressure and bounce back after the knocks of the learning period. Elway did it, so maybe Alex Smith won't vanish without trace...
