MG,
You seem perfectly OK with the one generation that gets the benefit.
But imagine if you were among the hundreds of generations that had to guard those hundreds and hundreds of tons of heavy toxins.

.

And as I remember from a previous debate, you're perfectly ok with 50,000 deaths a year directly attributable from present fossil fuel use.

Here it is: put the waste back in the ground Deep, deep in the ground. Is it a perfect solution? nope. But done right, it is a pretty good one, and one which does a better job of dealing with the waste existing now,and that continues piling up all over the US.

I would welcome you explaining to me why you think that would be OK.
It's not ok. But neither is the hysterical "OH MY GOD IT'S RADIOACTIVE AHHHH WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE NO MATTER WHAT WE DO!" bullshit that has impeded reasonable, safe solutions and has left us more at risk because NOTHING is done.

Thankfully, we have gotten past that in my country and are proceeding with a plan to deal with spent fuel rather than just let it sit.
