Nuclear plants might be nicer for the planet, and perhaps not overly dangerous given the standards are enforced . If we have an accident or two, it might be the price of doing business. Do we not accept ~ 40 to 50 thousand automobile deaths in North America as unremarkable? There seems little momentum to ban cars.

Regardless, if nuclear power makes a big comeback, it won't be cheap. Likewise, scarcer oil and gas will drive prices higher as well. Energy will cost you more, no matter what you do.
