The accusation of liar is so easily thrown around here, it is almost a shame. But I guess it is ok, just as long as the forum is padded so as to accept it.

This puzzles me a great deal, Steve. You've consistently pointed out that you don't like either the way this board is run or the opinions of the Pubbies, and yet you keep turning up. If I felt about any board the way you seem to feel about this one, I'd be sooooo gone.

Hi Mac. I don't think you have ever heard me say, "I don't like the way the board is run." However, you won't hear me call that "a lie."

Truth is, we all have certain prejudices, pet-peeves, qualms and dislikes, just as much as preferences, tastes and likes. I think it would be impossible to run a board without exhibiting at least some...here and there. On the other hand, some are bound to notice them same...coming out, especially on the opposing side, if one perceives opposers, that is. It doesn't mean, I don't like a board, just because I happen to notice certain leeways. Solitary statements (people) that don't fit into the much preferred statusquo make easy targets, probably because they standout from the "normal" humdrum that permeates the air.

You and John, try to be fair. And the end result is, that there is more effort than some boards are willing to give.

And Mac, please remember, just because I am not posting, does not mean I have am not here. I read, not all, but some.

Be that as it may, let's explore a little. Suppose I posted something like, "Studies have shown that religion is a palliative for humanity's condition of uncertainty." I wonder if you wouldn't like to know what studies those might be. And since I would be unable to produce even one, what conclusion would you arrive at?

I would perceive that whatever studies you have come across, were done by people with a pretext that there is not and never has been, a supernatural being, let alone...any number of them.
