Yes it can, but you're phrasing your question in a way that makes it hard to explain. Let me put it this way - you can divide the claim into two parts:

1. I claim that the sun is big and red and really really warm.

I don't argue with this claim, I don't think you will either, and most people won't. It's a sound claim, it's got merits and it's most likely valid.

2. This has been proven again and again by Albert Einstein.

Ah, but see, although I agree with the point, and I believe it's true, this doesn't make the second part of it true.
