Okay, now that I've had some time to cool off a little, I'll tackle yet another confrontational post from the Peanut Gallery.
Quote:
Atheism...is no bed of roses.
Atheism doesn't claim to be a bed of roses. In fact, atheism claims nothing at all except that atheists don't believe in gods. That's it.
Quote:
It offers no answers for anything other than mankind is the answer for everything...and yet the facts show a world (mankind) full of problems, including some that nag a very massive atheistic population currently residing in the Far East.
Well, since atheists appear to be in the minority worldwide, then I wonder why you've brought up the continuing problems mankind faces. Evidently, those problems aren't solved by god-belief, and in fact many seem to be aggrevated by it. I think we can lay mankind's problems at mankind's door, regardless of who believes what. If you have information to the contrary, I'd be interested to hear what it is.
Quote:
Atheists...like to perpetuate that man is an animal.
Man, by any definition you care to offer, IS an animal.
Quote:
Therefore, they tend to be animalistic in their thinking. To many...it is a dog eat dog world. Every man/woman...for themselves.
Have you even the least notion how absurdly simplistic this is? Once more, atheists are simply humans who have no belief in gods. We're constrained by the same social instincts and rules which govern other humans, we behave as our personalities and circumstances dictate, just as other humans do.
Quote:
Trillions for weapons. Billions for wild goose chases in space. Little for the betterment of those who are at economical disadvantage. Those who can't even go to school. An equal amount of next to nothingness for disease...which is often brought on by man's own abuse of himself.
Oddly, these complaints seem to reference many Christian-dominated societies in particular. So, again, god-belief is superior...how?
Quote:
will be among the first to agree...that "religion" has reaked a horrible amount damage on our earth. Yet, I see this more as an abuse of what "Faith" should be...by humanity...than what "Faith" actually should be.
Oh, good. The "no true Scotsman" approach again. Only true believers are correct, so the incorrect are not true believers. When you good folk settle on exactly which beliefs are "true", get back to me.
Quote:
Sure you can find *ding-bats* who claim to be Christian, or any other religious persuasion for that matter, but don't you dare, think the abuse of power, influence and materialism...ends there.
I haven't been able to figure out what this statement means yet. When I do, you and I may be having a discussion about what each of us "dares", with specific reference to sweeping generalizations and neener-neenerism. I promise you, you won't fare very well.
Quote:
Atheism...does not teach principles, morals or a better standard of living, it can't, as it has none to offer.
Just by way of clarification, I'll state once more that atheism is ONLY a lack of belief in gods. It has nothing to do with morality, ethics, or behavioral standards.
Quote:
So...it must depend on the dog eat dog world; survival...of the fittest.
Oh, right. We don't recognize man-made law, we don't fear human consequence, we are incapable of empathy, love, devotion to our families and communities, and we habitually devour our young...just because we can. :rolleyes

Are we ready to discuss what we each dare now? I feel like a snack before lunch.
Quote:
But then...even the psychoanalysts...bicker among themselves...
Unlike the complete harmony and serene agreement among believers about such things as doctrine, interpretation, versions of gods, proper rituals, whose religious texts are innerrent, how "true" believers ought to behave, and what to wear to worship...? :lol
Quote:
My opinion.
Duly noted and dissected.
