Well...only if those who believe in personal survival after death are right, Druid. If they're wrong, nobody will ever know. :)

I think "psychological disorder" is pretty much dependent on whether or not it disrupts your life and interferes with how you function in an observable reality. I wouldn't (for example) call my in-laws even mildly crazy, and they're very much believers.

It's my opinion that some of us are wired to believe and others, not so much. Still others don't seem to give it much thought at all and just accept sociological constructs without it effecting them much one way or the other. I think it all just comes with the brain, and that we don't really choose our beliefs as much as they choose us.

A good portion of belief...perhaps all of it...seems to be experential, and therefore inarguable on a personal level. If it simply stayed there, it wouldn't matter a whole lot. It'd just be interesting facets of individual personalities. We mostly seem to want to all hang together, though, and some want to hang the rest separately. :p
