I must admit, this makes me smile. I don't know about the Salvation Army in America, but here in England, they do nightly rounds in the clubs and pubs selling their "Young Soldier" and "Warcry" magazines and accepting - correction: collecting donations from drinkers and gamblers.

I've never once seen them refuse a donation on the grounds that someone might have won the money on a horse race or on the Bingo, much less because the person was drunk and may have had hungry kids at home who could have used the money far more immediately. Of course, they might say that the money would have only been spent on drink or more gambling, but that would be making a judgement on the people that are donating to their cause - not unheard of in fundamentalist circles, of course.

Two faced? Perhaps, if they do likewise to the British S.A.

Just think, though, how much publicity they are receiving because of this sanctimonious act and how many more, smaller donations they will receive because of it. Self righteousness will surely pay off for them, I think.
