There's still a difference between people applying for suicide, and society asking them to justify their death,

and death squads choosing the weak and infirm, the unneccessary, and asking them to justify their life.

You want to draw the line at ability, which isn't much of a line, IMHO. If someone is in imperfect control of his faculties, but able to shoot a gun, they can kill themselves whenever they want, with or without legal advice.

I'd rather draw the line at competent intent. For someone in full awareness of their condition, their pain, their loss of the parts of their life that make them consider it A Life...if they lack the means, i don't think every doctor should be forced to assist, but the opportunity to find someone willing should be afforded.
