“No exceptions!! ... IMO”

I see Hitler’s treatment of crippled, deformed, and brain-damaged, as a catapult leading to his final solutions.

That is my main concern about the subject, and that is why I do not support euthanasia in any form, other than at the request of the owner of that terminated life.
I should clarify that the request can be carried out by any means available to those that have an urge to cooperate, but to make it legal to cooperate would only force those that can not do it to do it.

Even if the situation is terminal, and the individual, blind, brain dead, or in some shape that would deny that person the means to terminate his/her life.

It would lead to mass killings of those that seem to oppose the norm.
Or simply in the way
Terminally ill people.
Or those that simply want to commit suicide, as their final solutions.

I knew a man, dying of emphysema, that was bent on doing such. He showed me a rifle that he had hidden in his room that he planned to use it if the disease became unbearable, but he informed me that his religious family had told him that to kill his self was a sin,

On my next visit, the family had found and removed the gun. He couldn’t control the sobs, as he related the pain he was having. But the intensity grew when he related that the family had told him that he was selfish to let them find him in such a wasted manner, brainless and all that gooy- stuff all over the place!

He was a tormented lad living a tormented life in the shell of a man.

I told him to find out which drugs relieved his pain, and which drugs were prolonging his life.
He hushed, and changed the conversation.

The rest of the visit was a peaceful encounter.
I remember, as I held his hand when I said my goodbyes, that for the first time in several visits I saw relief in his eyes.

A couple of months later he was found dead in his bed, after, what the family considered a quiet, and peaceful night.

They, also found an envelope, with his daily regiment of all his medicine, which he had simply hid from those that loved him, in a small overnight case he had hidden.

While this man was not incapacitated, and did find a way out. I feel that, while I had in some way been a help to him, It was still his choice.

Of course the family was upset, but everyone noted it was for the best for everyone there.

I just saw it as the man must have had a huge capacity for pain, and had used it to his own advantage.

Go figure! ……. ?
