False Dichotomies: Hollywood seems to love false dichotomies, they turn up when ever the story needs to build tensions for the characters. It really, really pisses me off.
it's one thing to be involved in the story, so that you get annoyed with the character. It's a real piss off when you start getting annoyed with the writers.
I've been watching Lucifer, some episode where some psycho decides he will place random people in danger (by poisoning them, actually) then offers to give them the cure if some high profile person, an Actor scares his face, a surgeon mangles her hand, then tells them if they don't do these thing he will with hold the cure, and it's their fault if the random person dies.
Just now watching Agents of SHIELD, The bad guy tells a character Fitz, it will be his fault if his girlfriend is tortured and dies.
This is a fucking False Dichotomy, it's not their fucking fault... it's The bad guys fault, and it always is the fault of the bad guy.
What really pisses me off is that on almost every occasion where the good guy accepts that it's their fault, they are acting out of character. Mature people, suddenly start acting like immature morons, simply because they've been told it's their fault, if the bad guy does what bad guys do.
